Web Design A Rocky Web Home Page

If you decide to design your site yourself you can learn basic HTML coding quite easily (search for HTML online) and then use something like Notepad or Allaire HomeSite to write the code. Or you can use a WYSIWYG (What You See is What You Get) tool such as NetObjects Fusion, Macromedia Dreamweaver, Adobe PageMill & GoLive, or Microsoft FrontPage. These products all vary in cost, abilities, and learning curve. This site was built with Fusion. See Internet Links to find demo versions. You might also need a scanner, digital camera, clip art, and software for audio, video, & graphics if you decide to go all out.

This might be more than a little daunting to you. If you decide to hire a web designer you will want to make your choice just as you would hiring any other contractor. Look at their prices, portfolio , experience, reputation, attitude, and tools. You can find out a lot about Mountain.Web by looking around the other areas of this web site, check out the sites of any of your prospects.

To move on to the actual design phase, it is a good idea to surf the Web looking for sites you like & even sites you dislike ...
