One of the first questions I ask any potential client is what colours they like
and what colours they don't. It doesn't matter how happy you are with the design if you don't like 1 colour.
Other colour issues can arise such as how many of your site visitors are viewing it at only
256
colours. This can result in them seeing completely different colours than you planned if you use "non-websafe" colours (like the background of this page). You also want to ensure the colour on your site doesn't interfere with the viewer's ability to read the text and understand your content.
You can't control is what
screen resolution
a visitor is using. At 640x480 you have to scroll sideways to see the content across this page. At 800x600 it fits. Go higher and there is blank space to the right. Elements appear smaller or larger
at different resolutions. Text is ragged and hard to read at 640x480, as you go higher it is smoother but it also gets smaller.
